My husband and I recently decided to open a family daycare center. In order to have children in our home we would need to significantly remodel to comply with local fire codes. We quickly realized that the loans that were available to us only a few years ago did not exist anymore. Luckily a friend told us about microlending and specifically about Copernicus Fund. We found that unlike what we were experiencing with big banks Copernicus Fund was willing to work with us. The process has been great and we locked into an interest rate that is highly competitive. We feel extremely lucky that we will be able to see our dreams come true and feel grateful to Copernicus Fund for giving a small business like us a chance.

About Nicole & Chris

Nicole Colao-Vito & Chris Giorni are opening a novel daycare in San Francisco, called Tree Frog Treks Open Air Day Care.

I recently set up a meeting with Christopher to discuss my business plan and the possibility of Copernicus partially funding the expansion of my current Pilates and Yoga Instruction home business to a retail location. We met at a cafe in Oakland, and he immediately put me at ease. He walked me through the basics of getting a small business funded — from how to approach friends and family to the benefits of micro-loan funding and bank loans. He asked questions that helped me to get even more clear how to communicate my vision to potential lenders. He advised me of my next steps. Christopher is full of energy and ideas, and is an excellent listener. He made me feel as if I could ask him any question at all.  I love working with him, and am delighted to have him on my team of business advisors.

I received a loan from Copernicus Fund when I was preparing to take the leap into independent contracting.  This afforded me the financial independence to move forward with the shift in my career path, giving me a bit of a safety net for the first few months while I was building my client base.  The terms were very clear and the people easy and pleasant to work with.

About Cameron Lovelace

Cameron Lovelace is a Bay Area independent contractor.

Copernicus Fund supports all kinds of endeavors…the entire process thus far—from approval, payment, and commencing repayment—has been without trouble.  Because Copernicus Fund is managed by someone who is responsive, organized, thoughtful, and fun, I am not at all displeased with incurring the debt and feeling sure that I will be able to repay the loan in terms that are agreeable to us both.
